To vote in a Hemphill County election, you must be registered to vote at least 30 days before the election date. To change your name or address, a completed and signed application is also required.

You are eligible to register to vote if:

• You are a United States citizen;
• You are a resident of the county where you submit the application;
• You are at least 17 years and 10 months old, and you are 18 years of age on Election Day.
• You are not a convicted felon (you may be eligible to vote if you have completed your sentence, probation, and parole); and
• You have not been declared by a court exercising probate jurisdiction to be either totally mentally incapacitated or partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote.

Where to Register to Vote

Complete a Voter Registration Application and mail the signed application (at least 30 day before the election date) to:

Hemphill County and District Clerks Office: P.O. Box 867, Canadian, TX 79014                                                                                                                                       

Obtain a Voter Registration Application by:

• Pick-up an application at  Hemphill County Clerk's Office and submit your completed, signed application from 8:00am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.
• Download and print an application in English or Spanish.
• Request, via e-mail and our office will mail a paper application to you.  Please provide a mailing address and phone number in your email.
• Call (806) 323-6212 to be assisted in English or Spanish.

Para votar en una elección del Condado de Hemphill, debe estar registrado para votar al menos 30 días antes de la fecha de elección. Para cambiar su nombre o dirección, también se requiere una solicitud completa y firmada.
